Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and vocalist. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actor, she is an example to many Asian actors who aspire to become famous in Hollywood. A series of successful early performances in popular TV series led to her becoming popular for her role in the show in Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. After a sudden surge in popularity, the actress got roles on the big screen like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame, she played the lead in several flops at the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen roles failed to bring her much success. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu to reestablish herself as an established actor. Liu chooses her roles carefully so that she doesn't get stereotyped in a field which is extremely competitive. She is also a talented artist who has not been limited by her ethnicity.
