April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US, is among a select set of females who've won medals in multiple Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross hopes to win more than just her first Olympic medal. At 39 this may be her last chance to accomplish this. But she's still certain of taking top honors. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that if you play your best, even if you play well we will get the gold. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started competing in the sports of Newport Harbor High School. Along with playing in numerous sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. When she played in the final sport, she clearly stood out. Thanks to her hard work she was named an 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. She also received her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross is working with Klineman from 2017 but her beach game was established well before this. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments using two partners, one of which is an icon of volleyball. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she announced her retirement. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Following high school, and for a few many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross played with the Trojans of USC as a collegiate. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000, as a freshman she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was an All-American. The Trojans were also able to reach the Final Four with her help. During her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal setback but managed to be a second All-American. Over her final two years in the program she led the Trojans towards the summit by winning two three consecutive championships at the national level. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend by winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter's climb to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was still an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She still holds her mother dear. Margie has always been a source of inspiration for her both at and off the beaches.
