Zoe Saldana (born June 19, 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana and Aridio Saldana, who reside in Passaic New Jersey. Her father is Dominican as is her mother Puerto Rican. Her parents raised their daughter at home in Queens, New York. In 2010, she relocated along with her family to Dominican Republic where they spent for the next seven years. Zoe developed a passion for dance performance while living in Dominican Republic. She began training with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet and other forms of dance.
